- Crafted by hand, each Carved Suar Gong is beautiful and unique. Inspired by the Island culture of the Indo Pacific skilled artisans carefully select logs of Suar to work with. Not only is the exterior carved but the interior must be as well to capture the authentic style of tribal island life. Intricate designs are chiseled into the log unlocking the inner spirit of the wood revealing its final form. The Suar Gong is then painted by hand in traditional methods for an incredibly interesting piece to decorate with. Natural Suar wood is ok for outside use. We recommend sealing the Carved Suar Gong for outdoor applications if you would like to protect the painted finish otherwise the Gong will weather and age in the elements.
