The atelier

A family business, and a carving floor.

World of Decor has been sourcing and commissioning hand-carved marble since 1989 — thirty-five years of estates, grand gardens, memorial grounds and signature interiors, run by the same family throughout.

Every commission begins with your idea and moves through consultation, design approval and hand carving by artisans working in the traditional way. Blocks are identified and photographed for you before carving, because veining on a one-off piece is never interchangeable.

We carry finished work in inventory as well. If your date will not move, there is often something on the floor that will suit — and we will tell you plainly when that is the better answer.

Custom marble fabrication

Marble monuments for cemeteries and memorial grounds

World of Decor carves custom marble monuments, memorial angels, weeping angels, crosses, mausoleum fronts and columbarium facings for cemeteries, monument dealers, funeral homes and parishes. Memorials are carved to order in stone specified for outdoor durability, with inscription, plaque and relief work executed by hand. Where a new monument must stand beside existing markers, stone colour, finish and proportion are matched at the specification stage.

Architectural marble for builders and general contractors

For custom home builders, general contractors and architects we fabricate carved marble columns, capitals and bases, balustrades, stair details, mantels, surrounds and carved panels — cut to submitted dimensions and delivered crated, ready to set. Lead time is confirmed in writing with the quote so stone can be scheduled against the construction programme.

Estate homes and grand gardens

Our estate work covers monumental hand-carved marble fountains, gazebos, garden benches, planters, urns, obelisks and statuary for large estate homes, private gardens and landscape architecture. Pieces are studied proportionally against the site before carving, and foundation and plumbing requirements are supplied in advance of delivery.
